William T. Nuttall, 93, passed away on July 21, 2017. He was born in Schley, Virginia on December 26, 1923. Billy was preceded in death by his wife Shirley M. Nuttall, his parents, Luther M. and Edith R. Nuttall; brother, E. Rudolph Nuttall, and sister, Eliza N. Ottarson. He is survived by his sons, William Wayne Nuttall and his wife Sandra, and Gene T. Nuttall; his brother, Everett M. Nuttall; four grandchildren, Christy Nuttall Hurst, Amanda Nuttall Horsley, William Wayne Nuttall, Jr., and Megan Nuttall South; and five great grandchildren; Caleb Horsley, Thomas Horsley, Tanner Hurst, Makenna Nuttall, and Dustin Nuttall.
Billy served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from the Public Works Department at the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown, Virginia. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Treasurer, and choir member. He was an honorary member of Botetourt Lodge No. 7 for 60 years where he served as Secretary, Master in 1963, and the Lodge Instructor of Work. The family would like to thank all the wonderful CNA's and NA at Gloucester House for their love and care during Dad's stay and also, Shirley Dodson-McAdoo, Mark Fusco, and Heartland Hospice. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23 at Andrews Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services will be held at Beulah Baptist Church on Monday, July 24, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites.
