William Stephen Field, III, of Gloucester, Virginia, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the age of 87. Billy was born in Hampton, Virginia to William Stephen Field, Jr. and Cary Lee Field. He was a strong Christian man, who was secure in his promise of Heaven. He loved his family deeply and felt so blessed to know and love all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent in the church. He served in the US Air Force in several locations. He was a charter member of the Gloucester Volunteer Fire & Rescue, and ran many rescue calls over the years. One of the highlights of his retired life was breakfast at Hardee's with his friends. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children, Nancy C. Field, second wife Ann C. Field and is survived by his wife Kay T. Field, daughter Marcia F. Hall (Johnny), son, Stephen A. Field (Connie), stepdaughters Kathy Kline(Chris) and Audra Matney(Bobby), eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, and his special dog, Katy.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, or to a charity of your choice.
