William (Bill) Julian Edwards, 87, of Mathews, Virginia, passed away at home on October 26, 2025. He was born in New Bern, North Carolina on February 2, 1938. Bill was a resident of Mathews County for over 50 years. He was a member of Gwynn's Island Church of the Nazarene. He worked at the shipyard as a welder; later retired from Fort Eustis as a civil engineer in the Department of Transportation and from maintenance at Mathews schools.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia Edwards and a son, William Lincoln Edwards.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Betty Jane Forrest Edwards; a daughter, Lisa Edwards Gayle (Joe); granddaughters, Ashley Gayle Stuhr (Johnny), Amanda Gayle Kerins (JP); great-grandchildren, Abigayle Stuhr, Atticus Stuhr, Julian Kerins and Jack Kerins; sister-in-law, Lydia Forrest Wetterling.

A memorial service will be Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Gwynn's Island Church of the Nazarene, 1009 Cricket Hill Road Hudgins, Virginia. A lunch/reception to follow the service. The inurnment will be private.
