William Leonard Blair

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Leonard Blair, a loving husband, devoted father, caring papa, and very proud great papa, who passed on Friday, November 29th at the age of 84. He was born in Albany, New York on June 29, 1940. Bill was known for his sense of humor. He was better known as "Dr. Blair of Hair" as he owned and operated Beaconsdale Barbershop where he retired in May 2010. He was and avid golfer and bowler.

Bill is survived by his wife Carolyn, his three children Bubbie Pauls, Angie Owen and husband David, Amber Loving and husband Nathan; his four grandchildren Samantha Martin and husband Brandon, Alyssa Honeycutt, Brady Owen, and Ashley Honeycutt; and his five great grandchildren Hunter, Hailee, Shelby, Luke, and Asher, a special aunt Esther Blair, and a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 14th at 7 PM at Parkview Church of God, 1116 Briarfield Road, Newport News with Pastor Terry Swiney officiating. The family would like to thank his special neighbors The Dickersons, The Purcells, and The Hudgins in Ware Neck who have been by his side thru his illness. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to your favorite charity in Bill's memory.
