In Loving Memory of Walter "Walt" Mair
December 17, 1950 – May 9, 2025

Walt Mair was many things: a loyal service member, a skilled outdoorsman, a jokester with a wicked grin, a man of deep character.

He was a loving husband of 53 years to Kathy, the girl he knew at first sight would be the one. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and resilience. He was the proud father of Shannon (married to W. Allen Pate) and Phil (married to Lindsey Hodges Mair), and a caring grandfather to Kyle, Jake, Grace, Allie, and Olivia. He is also survived by his sister, Stacie Scott, and her family.

Walt served in the U.S. Air Force with the 74th Air Control Squadron at Langley Air Force Base, VA. His military career set the tone for a life of discipline, purpose, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Off duty, Walt came alive in the outdoors. He was a hunter through and through. He was a longtime and proud member of the Wicomico Hunt Club.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In place of flowers, we ask that donations be made to a charity close to your heart, in memory of Walter Mair.
