Virginia Lucille Rilee Whaley Closson, 96 went to be with the Lord on Sept. 2, 2022 at Dominion Village in Poquoson. She was born on April 30, 1926 in Gloucester,Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Meredith Rilee, seven sisters and two brothers. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Johnny Whaley and her second husband Harry B. Closson.
Lucille was a very loving and caring person. She loved to tell stories about growing up in Gloucester on her Daddy's farm and about working the fields with her brothers and sisters How they all wen to a school in a one room school house. she loved to talk about her family.
Lucille attended Petsworth Baptist Church in Gloucester for many years. She switched to Seaford Baptist Church in Seaford, VA. which was closer to her home.
She is survived by her loving caregivers Jackie and Cindy West. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Andrews Funeral Home from 12:00 -1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022 with funeral services starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Petsworth Baptist Church Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
