Thomas Laverne
Scott
May 16, 1950 — Feb 2, 2025
Gloucester
Thomas Laverne Scott passed away on February 2nd at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, Va at the age of 74. Tom was born to Mary and James Scott in Michigan on May 16th, 1950. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and continued federal service, continuing in the Army National Guard until he started as an Instructor at Fort Eustis training Soldiers in aircraft armament starting in 1984 and ending in 2019. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Los Angles Lakers and Michigan State Spartans, but managed to raise a son who favored the Michigan Wolverines. He found the most joy in his life in his wife Maxine, whom he married in 2019, and his extended family. He found peace in these relationships, but more importantly with his relationship with God and regular attended services at White Marsh Baptist Church. He is survived by his sisters Karen and Becky, brother Dan, daughter Jessica, and son Zach. A memorial service will be held at White March Baptist Church Wednesday February 12th at 6 p.m., followed by a reception.
