Theresa (Tess) LaSalvia Schoening, 71, passed away Wednesday October 22, 2025, following a lengthy illness.  She was born on June 26, 1954, to the late Sorofino and Elvira LaSalvia.

Theresa enjoyed serving God and spreading his word. She had a way of seeing the good in everybody that she met.  She also had an infectious smile with an adorable dimple that made you have to smile too.

She had such a love for animals, especially horses.  She had a special way of communicating with them that was incredible.

Theresa was a proud Grandma who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister, Debra.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Schoening and her children Justin (Kathleen) McMichael, Jessica (Aaron) Wells, Brandon (Lydia) Peterson and Melody (William) Moore, and Sherry Adams.  Her grandchildren, James, Rebecca, Jennifer, Aiden, Caleb, Lillian, Dominic, Brian and Tessa, as well as her great grandson, Victor.

She is also survived by her sisters, Angela (David), Andrea and Marie (Randy) and her brother, Harold (Penny)

There will be a viewing at 5pm,  followed by a service at   6 pm at Andrews Funeral Home 7192 Main Street, Gloucester, Virginia 23061 on Sunday, November 2,2025.
