Tessie Lee Booker (Chavis) passed away peacefully in Bel Air, Maryland on February 29, 2024. She was born in North Carolina on August 27, 1930, the beloved daughter of Roy and Mary Chavis (Smith).

Tessie's husband, Basil B. Booker, predeceased her in 1998. She is survived by her sons, William T. Booker, Sr. (Ria), Gary Booker (Angie) and the late Roger Booker. Her siblings are the late Robert Chavis, the late William R. (Jr.) Chavis, (Jean), William (Bim) Chavis (Margaret), john Chavis (Pauline), Rae Mullins (Larry), Mary (Tootsie) Harryman (Gene), Lorraine Meredith (the late Kenneth) and Geneva Moore.

Tessie is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a very kind, tender woman with a beautiful heart. She loved music, shopping, and spending time with family in Pennsylvania.

The family will receive freinds  on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 6-7:30 p.m., at Andrews Funeral Home, 7192 Main Street, Gloucester, VA with a graveside service 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7 at Bellamy Memorial Cemetery.

Tessie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
