Ted Edward Gilkerson, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished family memories. Born on March 13, 1941, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas Fred Gilkerson and Ella Marie Johnson Gilkerson.

A skilled machinist by trade, Ted possessed a natural talent for working with his hands. Beyond his career, he was a true car enthusiast who loved nothing more than spending time under the hood of an automobile. Above all else, his greatest joy was simply spending time surrounded by his family, to whom he was a steady source of strength, love, and guidance.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carol Gilkerson; his children, Ronald (Melanie) LeBlond, Janet Rinehard, Ted LeBlond, and Vickie LeBlond; as well as 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tommy Gilkerson; his daughter, Donna Watson; and his great-grandson, Hayden Layton.

A visitation will be held at Andrews Funeral Home, on Thursday October 1st @ 10 AM followed by Funeral Service starting at 11 AM, his interment will follow the service at Windsor Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum.

His presence, laughter, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
