Sylvia Elaine Clifton, 80, of Ark, Virginia passed away at her home surrounded by her children and family on Friday November 15, 2024. She was born April 3, 1944 in Watertown, NY to the late Harold Milo Strong and Helen Mary Lortie Strong.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Noah David Clifton; and brother, Donald Waylon Strong.

Sylvia was a devoted Christian and a member of St. Therese Church of Gloucester, VA. She retired from the Naval Weapon Station in Yorktown, VA were she was employed as a budget analyst until she retired after 30 years working for the government. Her greatest treasure was spending time with her grandchildren and greats. She loved shopping, traveling, and collecting jewelry. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Almarode (Clint); sons, Noah David Clifton II (Lisa) and Eben Clifton. Granddaughters, Jennifer Shore (Kevin), Leanna Black (Michael), Alyssa Guminsky (Brett), Andrea Drummond (Sean), Haley Clifton, Heather Grimes; grandsons, Joseph Clifton (Emily), Mark Drummond, Thomas Clifton (Caitlyn), Ted Clifton, Derek Drummond, and Hayden Budynkiewicz; great granddaughters, Adley Black, Chelsea Clifton and Livingston Guminsky; great grandsons, Lofton Ayala and Grayson Clifton. Special granddaughters, Alta and Rebekah Peters and a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to her grandsons Mark and Derek Drummond, and her son Eben Clifton for their exceptional care during her battle with dementia.
