Sue was born July 4, 1944 in Havertown, PA, to the late Frederick Heeremans and Margaret (van den Hengel) Heeremans.
She attended Haverford Township Public Schools. After graduation, she attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, where she lived on campus. She majored in Elementary Education and sang in the college choir. After graduation Sue attended Kutztown University where she earned a master's degree in Education.
While at Muhlenberg she continued to date her high school boyfriend, Bill Haderer, who visited her every weekend. After his college graduation, they married and lived in an apartment in Allentown where he worked, and she completed her undergraduate and graduate education.
With education complete, they built a house in suburban Allentown, and Sue worked teaching in the Parkland School District as a full-time teacher at Schnecksville Elementary School for three years and later as a substitute teacher, primarily at Kernsville Elementary School. Sue was involved in the Kay Brook–Green Hills Community Association for many years. She spent many hours as a volunteer at Parkland Community Library, organizing book sales, helping library patrons, and sitting on the Board.
After Bill's retirement they moved to Beverly Hills, Florida, where they lived for 20 years before relocating to Gloucester, VA, in 2021 to be closer to family. While in Florida, Sue continued to be active in library work, organizing book sales and sitting on the Board of the Citrus County Library. Sue was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Dick. Sue is survived by her husband, Bill, and two daughters: Sharon West and her husband Chris and their two children Chloe and Drew (Gloucester, VA); and Joanne Muller and her husband Daniel and their two children Daniel and Ashley (Melrose, MA).
Private cremation arrangements under the care of Andrews Funeral Home and Crematory in Gloucester, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gloucester Humane Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
