Stacy Ann Dault Strahler, 63, wife of David Strahler, departed this life on Thursday, October 12, 2023. She was born at Shaw AFB, Sumter, South Carolina on February 29, 1960. Being part of an Air Force family, she traveled to Japan and Okinawa before settling in Sumter with the family. She eventually met her husband and the love of her life in 2000 and moved to Virginia in 2001 where they were happily married in 2005.
Stacy had many, many friends and was adored by all of them. She was affectionately as "Skippy" because of her kind, fun-loving, happy and spirited personality. Her many interests including forensic science, criminal justice, reading true crime, baking, playing trivia games, traveling and spending time with her husband and pets. She had a great love for animals and was an advocate of pet adoption and rescue. One of her favorite characters was "Hello Kitty" of which she enjoyed collecting memorabilia. Her many friends will remember her for being a  kind and thoughtful person who truly cared about each and everyone one of them.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Susan Powers (Nick) of Versailles, Kentucky, Shannan Dault of Sumter, South Carolina, a brother Scott Dault (Kim) of Summerton, South Carolina and two beloved rescued Shih Tzus Ellie Mae and Lucy Faye, and her cat Bridget. She was preceded in death by her father William J. Dault and her mother Marlyn J. Dault of Sumter.
The family will have a drop-in to celebrate Stacy's life on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 2 pm - 4 pm at the family residence, 7179 Deer Run Dr. , Gloucester.
The family would like to thank everyone at Fresenius Dialysis Center in Gloucester who befriended Stacy and were so kind to her as she battled her illness as well as the many friends and family who rallied around her during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or any pet rescue organization of one's choice.
