Sharon Lathrop, of Cardinal, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She found joy in time spent at the beach, church, crafting, and sharing her creativity with those around her. Her strong faith was a guiding light throughout her life and brought comfort and strength to her and to those who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, David; her children, Kaitlyn Stephens and her husband, Gearin; Zach Lathrop and his wife, Sabrina; her grandchild, Callie, daughter of Zach and Sabrina; her brother, Glenn and his wife, Jeanie; and her sisters, Ellen and Susan and her husband, Dan. She was proceeded in death by her parents Allen and Bobbie McFerrin.

A separate celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Sharon requested that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
