Ronnie Watkinson, 78, passed away July 13, 2021. Born in Accomack, he moved to Newport News and was employed in the Pipe Department at NN Shipbuilding. After several years he began working for Independent life Insurance Company (later American General) as salesman, staff manager and district manager. He retired after 37 years of service. He was a kind and thoughtful person and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Rogers and Willie Belote and parents Dudley Watkinson and Dorothy Belote, all of the Eastern Shore, and sister in law Joyce Watkinson of Delaware. Ronnie is survived by his brother, James Watkinson and nephews Kenny and Ricky Watkinson, all of Greenwood, Delaware and special friend and companion Bernie Freeman of Gloucester, Virginia.
A private graveside service will be held on August 3, 2021 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Onancock. In his memory contributions can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or your favorite charity. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
