Ronald "Ronnie" Henry Wirt, Jr, 65, of Hampton, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA. He was born on November 8, 1957 in Valdosta, GA to the late Ronald Henry Wirt Sr. and the late Sally "Jane" Hudnall Wirt. Ronnie grew up in Fieldale, VA. He was a 1976 graduate of Fieldale Collinsville High School. Ronnie enjoyed playing football and running track during his high school years. He was a member of Boys Scouts of America and earned his Eagle Scout. After high school graduation, he attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and graduated with a Degree in Political Science. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He had a passion for playing and refereeing Rugby. Ronnie lived most of his adult life in the Hampton Roads area of VA, and Gloucester, VA. Ronnie worked for Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding for 30 years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Ann McDaniel Wirt of 30 years; son, Nathan Henry Wirt (Rachael)of Gloucester, VA; brother, Donald Lee Wirt (Gina) of Martinsville,VA; grandchildren Alexia and Lidia; nephews, Zachary (BJ) Wirt of Fayetteville, NC, and Jacob Wirt of Blackshear, GA; great niece and nephews, Madison, Braxton, Braedon, and Jaxson; aunt, Bonnie Wirt Boatwright of Christiansburg, VA; and many loving cousins, family, and friends. A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, and Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Fieldale Baptist Church, 175 Church Hill Road, Fieldale,VA. Pastor Allen Jackson officiating.
