" In Loving Memory " Ronald "Ronnie" Lee Ray of Gwynn's Island, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2025, he was 76 years old.

Ronnie was born to Winnie Callis Ray and William Glenn Ray Sr. He was raised on Gwynn's Island with his two older brothers.

Ronnie graduated from Mathews High School and enlisted in the Air Force. After the Air Force he worked on the water for many years on his boat named Tammy Lynn, after his daughter. He worked at Fort Eustis in the James River Steel Fleet where he retired from. He also enjoyed driving tractor trailers with his two brothers and one of his best friends, Eddie Smith and his wife Patricia. After retirement, he worked as a bridge tender at the Gwynn's Island, Coleman and West Point bridges.

Ronnie was a beloved husband to his wife Linda, where they just recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. A wonderful daddy to his daughter Tammy Lynn and son-in-law Steven and his grandson Ronald Jennings, the joy of his world.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents William Glenn Sr. and Winnie Callis. His brother William Glenn Ray Jr. and his wife Ruth Ann. His sister Hulda Kathlene, his in-laws Collie Haywood and Mary Frances, his aunts and uncles Hazel Rowe and Buddy, Hilda Rowe and Wilson and grandmother Blanche Callis and Cliff.

He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Tammy Lynn, husband Steven and grandson Ronald Jennings. His brother James Ray and wife Sissie, brother-in-law James Haywood and wife Jane, sister-in-law Darlene Maginnis and husband Hugh. A beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews and a beloved friend to many other people.

Ronnie, we will always love you and miss you with all of our hearts. You will be truly and forever be missed, but we know you are in the hands of the Lord now.
