Gloucester,Va.dateline Robert Mason Sydenstricker slipped away peacefully in his home to be with his Lord and Savior July 29, 2018.

Born May 25, 1931, Bob was raised in Norfolk, Virginia until moving his family to Gloucester in 1986. He retired from the building material industry in 1999 to enjoy the tranquility Gloucester has to offer. He will most be remembered as a loving family man, honest, hardworking, and joyous neighbor and friend. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years Edna D. Sydenstricker, three daughters, Mary Cooper and husband Charlie, Carol Davis and husband Danny all of Columbia, North Carolina, and Sharon Whitlatch of Raleigh, North Carolina, a son, Webb Sydenstricker and wife Beverly of Gloucester, a grandson Aaron Sydenstricker, a niece, nephew, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

The family is hosting a Celebration Of Life at their home on August 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. for whoever would like to share memories, laughs, and light hors d'oeuvres. They also ask that in lieu of flowers, please consider a monetary donation to the Ruritan Club or Hospice of Gloucester.
