Obituary

Rebecca "Becky" Sadler Freeman Douglas was called home on Friday, June 21, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born in Alberta, Virginia and raised in Petersburg, Becky served as a Social Worker for the City of Hampton for 15 years. Becky was a beloved long-time member of Newington Baptist Church and a grateful member of the Woman's Missionary Union. She was loved by many in the Gloucester community for nearly 30 years. Becky is survived by her loving husband Alan Douglas, her sister Amelia Millie Blackburn of Richmond, her eldest son Tom Freeman of Jacksonville, Florida, her daughters Debra Cutts & husband David of Yorktown, Deborah Belcher & husband Rodney of Middlesex, and sons Daryl Douglas & wife Gina of New Kent County, and Dennis Douglas of Toano, and 16 grandchildren and 6 great grands (& 1 on-the-way). Becky was a loving wife and mother and woman of deep faith and dedication to her family. Becky, Mom, Grandma, will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 2-3:00 p.m. at Newington Baptist Church with funeral services starting at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
