Nellie Mae Deal, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at her home. She was born in Gloucester and was the daughter of the late James F. "Dot" Eastwood and Maybelle Bunting Eastwood and was the widow of Paul G. Deal. She was the Oldest member of Ebenezer Baptist church where she served the church for 30 years as the organist, and church treasurer and bookkeeper for 9 years and a member of the "Birthday Girls at church. She was also the organist at Beulah Baptist Church for 3 years. She was also preceded in death by her son John F. Deal and her brother Bernard Eastwood and is survived by her children, Melinda Deal and Warren Deal (Becky), her grandchildren Zackary Horsley, Eowyn Deal, and Erin Deal Johnson(Hunter), Many cousins and dear friends, her granddogs Nash, Brunor, and Arthur, and her grandcats Lilly, Ellie, and Tiger.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 1-2:00 p.m. with funeral services starting at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private. The family suggest the memorial be made to either Gideons International or to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue. The family is very grateful for Grace Hospice and the many other medical staff and caregivers. Andrews Funeral home & Crematory, Gloucester, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
