Nancy Ann Thomas Dayton of Gloucester, VA, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary G. Dayton.
She proudly served in the United States Navy.
She will be dearly missed by her son, Gary A. Dayton (Donna), daughter Christy D. Talbott (Donald), grandsons Kyle S. Talbott, and Andrew T. Dayton, granddaughter Dr. Alexandra B. Dayton, dear friend Jim Sharp and her sweet pet companion Sunny.
Nancy was loved and respected by all that knew her for her hard-working, family-oriented, funny, and caring nature.
Whether watching a favorite show with Kyle, swimming with Drew, or playing dominoes with Alex, family was everything to Nancy. She was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She dedicated her time to supporting the Arc of Greater Williamsburg, volunteering countless hours ringing the bell for Salvation Army, and delivering food for Meals on Wheels.
Celebration of life and burial will be held on June 3, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Arc of Greater Williamsburg (150-D Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188) or the Salvation Army can be made in her memory to honor her dedication to helping others.
