Mary Elizabeth "Beki" (Walker), age 56, formerly of Brandywine, Maryland gained her angel wings on Saturday, Sept 14, 2024. She was a resident of Gloucester, VA and is survived by her loving husband Raymond Keith Walker, her children Kimberly Siebert, Doug Walker, Stephanie Walker, Michael Walker, Andrew Clark, Mercie Clark and nine grandchildren.
She was raised in Maryland by her father, Donald Fredrick Richards, and her mother, Joyce Esther Maddox and her siblings Charles, Cyndie, Roscoe, and Shannon Richards. She graduated from Maurice J McDonough High School in 1986 and went on to receive her B.S. in Paralegal Studies at Shephard University in West Virginia, class of 2000.
She was a member of Living Waters Church in Dutton, VA. She worked as a CNA and MedTech for Saunders of Gloucester, VA, the Cary House of Gloucester, VA and Lakeside Assisted Living in Yorktown, VA.
Mary was an animal lover, particularly her cats. She had such a kind and gentle soul, and it carried over in the way she could never refuse to let a pet be left with no home, basically she was an animal hoarder. If you know you know. She loved arts and crafts; Joann Fabrics and Michaels were two of her favorite places to shop. She always watched crime documentaries and enjoyed both sci-fi and horror movies. Her favorite series was Star Wars. She was a great cook and liked Italian and Greek food. She was a huge music fan and had a very diverse interest from Lil Wayne to Kane Brown and even secretly the Backstreet Boys; she wore the tape out in her little blue hatchback.
One of Mary's favorite places to visit was Harpers Ferry, WV for the view from the Maryland Heights trail overlooking the Potomac & Shenandoah River. She also enjoyed the historic culture of the town, especially the ghost tours at night.
Mary's favorite holiday was Christmas, she in fact made sure you knew exactly how many days were left in a countdown on her Facebook. I think she really was just excited for all the family to be together and to see all her children and grandchildren.
One of our favorite things about her was her ability to make you laugh no matter the situation. She was very good at being sarcastic and had no problem cracking a smart-alecky remark followed by "the look" in the moment. She even made a joke during her vows on her wedding day saying "In both good air and bad" to Raymond. During her time of despair, she would still be able to make you laugh while in the hospital and let you know she was still her.
Its tough to say goodbye to such a wonderful woman. She was an amazing wife, loving mother, and exceptional grandmother. We will all miss her in the present but cherish her in spirit for she is watching over us and one day we too will be with her.
