Louis August Seitz, Jr., 98, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at his home. He was the son of the late Louis A. and Rose Nebel Seitz and was the widower of Leah Gercken Seitz. He was retired from The New York Life Insurance Co. and an engineer. He was a member of Bellamy United Methodist church and was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 632. During WW II he served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander and commanded the same tank as the Army crossed Europe. He served with the Fourth Armored Division of General Pattons 3rd Army.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Joyner and her husband Randy, grandchildren Matthew Joyner and his wife Katherine and Abbey Joyner, and great grandson Trevor.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, june 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Bellamy United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Culpeper National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Bellamy United Methodist church. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
