Larry N. "Festus" Oliver of Gloucester passed peacefully from this life on September 23, 2017. He was the son of the late Jack and Elizabeth Oliver.
Larry spent over 40 years with the Gloucester Fire and Rescue and was employed at the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown for more than 39 years. Many of these years as a crane operator Supervisor. He served on the Board of the Gloucester Mathews Farm Bureau for more than 20 years. Larry was an avid hunter and was a charter member of the Shack Hunt Club.
He is survived by his partner of 26 years Dale Butler Moore, her sons Ronnie (Kim) and Daniel Moore. Larry will be greatly missed by his siblings Mary O. Darling (Jock), Walter M. Oliver (Elsie) and Jean O. Jiacinto and numerous family member and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at Bellamy United Methodist Church Cemetery. by Beth Darling.
