Obituary

Kathleen Littlemore Arthur, 81, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband James L. Arthur and her parents J. Stanley Littlemore and Edith Whitehurst Littlemore.

She was retired from Mathews County School System after many years of service. Many of her former students told her that they appreciated her help in helping them to learn how to read. She enjoyed reading her whole life and especially enjoyed mystery novels and true life novels.

Before moving to Gloucester, she resided in Onemo in Mathews, County for over 50 years where she was well known for her cooking and her seasonal decorations She enjoyed collecting various things with her husband and had a passion for animals. She loved the performances of The Courthouse Players and was a seasonal ticket holder for may years.

She was born in England during WWII and is survived by her four younger sisters, Christine Bateman, Anne Abbott, Coral Littlemore, and Helen Kennerley(Keith), two nieces and six nephews who still live in England. She is also survived by her daughter, Heidi K. Arthur of Pottstown, Pa.; two sons John H. Arthur(Elizabeth) of Midlothian, and Carl J. Arthur of Gloucester, 3 grandsons Oliver Arthur of Midlothian, Jimmy Arthur (Krizma, and Jason C. Arthur (Catherine), all of Gloucester. three great granddaughters, Tru L, Peyton, and Presley, and her special companion Puddin Man.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Courthouse Players Building Fund, PO Box 643, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
