Jerry Dean Matney, 74, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at his home. He was born in Grundy, Va. and was the son of the late Anthony and Nettie Matney. He was employed by Local 1340 at Langley for 36 years.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and eight brothers and is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Paula K. Matney, sisters Ruby Dotson, a special "little sister" Sandra Ratliff (Tim), and a special sister-in-law Patsy King (and family), special friend Darrell Harrison, and numerous nieces and nephews, including Stephen, Kristen and Kevin who were especially close to him.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. It was Jerry's wish that everyone who attended the visitation and funeral service dress casual.
