Obituary

Jean Virginia Robins Matous, 89, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. She was born on March 19, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Edward Henry Robins and Jannie Willis Robins.
She was a long time member of St. Therese's Catholic Church, The Women of the Moose, and enjoyed the meetings of the Botetourt Belles and the time she was able to have fellowship with that group.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John (Jack) P. Matous, Sr.; brother Herbert Robins, and sister Ada Robins Peters. She is survived by her children; John P. Matous, Jr. (James) of Carrsville; Janet A. Principino of Drewryville; James A. Matous(Lynn) of Chesapeake, grandchildren, Justin V. Matous (Emily) of Midlothian; Stephen E. Matous (Cait) of Vienna; Rebecca E. Matous of Arlington; and Kelsey Goli (Boris); four great grandsons, Jackson, Reid, Henry, and Oliver; sister-in-law Marie Matous Romanski of Scott Township, Pa.; and brother-in-law Richard Matous (Rose) of Sarasota, FL.; numerous nieces and nephews as well as several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 6-7:30 p.m. with a funeral mass on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church with burial at Bellamy Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue. The family would like to give special thanks to Riverside Sanders Community, Riverside Walter Reed Hospice and the Visiting Angels. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
