George Raymond Asbell, age 67, passed away peacefully at home November 1, 2021. He was born November 28, 1953 in Suffolk, VA to Ralph and Rebecca Asbell. Raymond was a kind man and a hard worker. He was a devoted husband and father, who always had a listening ear and a soft word to share. Raymond started his life with Debbie together in 1973. He worked at Heilig Meyers to provide the wonderful life they lived. Raymond's job opportunities took him and his family from Suffolk, to Texas and then to Gloucester,VA. They gained many friends along the way. In Gloucester, Raymond left Heilig Meyers and bought two local Sears stores that he ran with the help of his two sons before retiring to spend time with his grandchildren. Raymond is survived by his wife, Debbie, sons Elliott and John, and grandchildren Tanner, Macy, Breanne, Shia, Scott, and Luke. Please join us in celebrating his life Saturday November 13, at Wilroy Baptist Church in Suffolk from 2pm to 5pm.
