Frank J Hodock, Jr., 72, the best sheetrocker in Virginia, passed away on June 3, 2021. Born August 3, 1948, he was the son of the late Frank J. Hodock, Sr. and Bernice Henson Hodock. He was a graduate of Lane High School and attended ECPI and University of Virginia School of Medicine/Radiology in Charlottesville and Aims Community College in Greely Colorado. He served in the Army in Vietnam in the 173rd Airborne Brigade (Sky Soldiers). He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cathy Cason Hodock; son Frank Joseph Hodock, III, sister Betty Sue Hodock Camper; grandchildren Frank Joseph Hodock, IV and Shelby Lynn Hodock; mother-in-law Isabel Stiles Cason; sisters-in-law Susan Cason Rollins and Lois Cason Eldridge; brothers-in-law Lawrence Browning Wooten, Leonard E. "Sandy" Cason, Timothy Rollins and Dave Eldridge; nieces Kelly Wooten Lee (Jon), Karen Sue Wooten Clark (David), Kathy Wooten, Lee-Anna Camper (Peter), Amy Kopcik VanValkenburg and Julie Kopcik; nephews Robert W. Camper, Jr. (Emily), Lee Rollins, Jesse Rollins (Angela); great nieces MattieCaroline Lee, Emma Clark, Sian Kopcik, Jessa VanValkenburg and Katelyn Rollins; great nephews Chandler Lee, Carter Lee (Breanna Evans), Beau VanValkenburg and Dominic Mattorano-Kopcik, great-great nieces Haven Rollins and Harper Kopcik; great-great nephews Hunter Rollins, Case Camper and Daniel Gonzales; and many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by parents Bernice Henson Hodock and Frank J. Hodock, Sr., Sister Carolyn Hodock Wooten, grandparents Iva Spencer Campbell, Andrew Hodock and Annie Somonco Hodock, father-in-law Leonard Ezra Cason, Jr as well as many uncles, aunts, cousin and friends.

Joey Hodock was more than a human being. He was a character filled with humor and the very essence of life. He was a free spirit who lived life to the fullest and on his terms. He was known for his hardy, drawn out laugh that would pull you in. His homegrown style had to include a beard, a

motorcycle, a Vietnam Vet ball cap, and a million tattoos. He was a proud veteran and a loyal friend with a generous heart.

Joey was a story teller like no other. He could tell a tale and spin a yarn forever and a day with the joy and enthusiasm of a child. His love for animals was evident at an early age. As a young boy he would bring home stray animals, which included a chicken, a dog, and a not so accommodating skunk. In later years, his pet turkey and numerous dogs kept him company and entertained.

"There is not another one like him." "He's one of a kind." These were sentiments often expressed by those who may have known him for only a day or by those who knew him for a lifetime. Joey was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend who continues to be loved dearly and will be missed by all. Enjoy heaven, dear soul. We will meet again one day.
