FRANCIS JOSEPH (JOEY) WILLIAMS

Joey Williams, 50, of Gloucester, passed away in his sleep on Dec. 28, 2022 at VCU Hospital. Sweet is the sleep that ended the pain.

I would not wake you to suffer again. Really wish you had listened to me, but you were Joey! I loved you and will miss you so much but it also is a relief to know where you are now. You were Joey! Fly high, little brother.

"God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest with the help of his angels (and I know Mom is one). They flew you to your heavenly place."

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal! Rest in peace, brother.

Survivors include sister, Tracie West (William); nephew, Thomas West; niece, Tabitha Brown, and his special friend, Shar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cathy Small and Sonny Scott.
