On April 14, 2024 Frances Jean South left this world to join her beloved husband Richard Franklin South in their heavenly home. She spent 40+ years shining her light on those in the community who could find her selling furniture at Broaddus & Hall or Robert's Furniture. Jean was an active member of Salem Church. Her love of God could only be rivaled by the love and devotion she had for her daughter Connie Birdsall (David), her two granddaughters Jessica Conner and Janice Whitley (Keith), and her 5 great grand children (Olivia, Brenton, Ellie, Bayleigh, and Brian). She is also survived by her brother Bernard Soles (Ruby) and brother-in-law and sister-in-law (Billy and Nona South). On any given weekend you could find her looking for a yard sale or crocheting a gift. We are all better for knowing her and the impact she left behind. She will continue to live on in the memories she created for us all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue. The family will receive friends at Andrews Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Grave side service was held on Thursday April 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Church Cemetery.
