Ernest Alonzo Midgette, Jr. 68, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 in Richmond, Va. He was born in Portsmouth, Va. and was the son of the late Ernest A. and Ila Moore Midgette, Sr. He was a member of BridgePoint Church in Gloucester and loved going to church and spending time with his church family and also his family. He loved going fishing and working in his garage. He retried from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Master Chief and had also been the captain of the Yorktown Lady.

He is survived by his wife Wanda C. Midgette, children Michelle M. Payne(Buddy). Micheal Midgette, Sr.,brother Jerry Murphy,  grandchildren Chris (Cieara), Dalton, Dakota, Ernest, Micheal Jr., Dawson, and Autumn, and great grandchildren Cody and Riley

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at BridgePoint Church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
