Obituary for Elaine Mary French

Elaine Mary French, aged 96, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024 at home under hospice care. She was born on April 15, 1928 in Lake Ariel, PA. She had a twin sister, Lorraine Stephens, who predeceased her. She was a resident of Gloucester, VA since July 1980. She was the wife of Robert H. French who predeceased her in 2023. They were married July 1, 1948 and were the parents of 3 children, Barbara Jo Abbott, Thomas Edward French, and deceased Robert Stuart French. She was a grandmother of 5 and a great grandmother of 7.

She was an active member of Grace Bible Church in Ark, VA for many years. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and looked forward to the day she would go to be with Him.

For close to 22 years she worked alongside her husband in several Christian schools, the last being Colonial Christian Academy in Gloucester, VA.

She will have a graveside funeral service to be held Friday, August 16 at 11:00. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
