Edith Arlene Hearne Briggs, 88, passed away on Thanksgiving Day. She had been a resident of Hampton since 1955. She was the widow of Wade Furman Briggs, Sr. and is survived by her sons Richard L. Briggs (Linda) and Wade F. Briggs, Jr. (Theresa), six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
