Dorothy Virginia Smith, 95, of Hayes, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was a native of Hayes, Va. and was the daughter of the late Luther and Ruby Hogg Riley and the widow of William Edward Smith.
She retired from Eastern State Hospital with 23 years of service and attended White Marsh Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Nelson Smith, son-in-law Wayne West, one granddaughter, and three great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Gloucester Point Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Andrews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
