Donna Lynn Young (Wood), 62, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 following a short but courageous fight with breast cancer. She was a life long resident of Newport News, Virginia. She was a loving dog mom to many and had a passion and talent for interior design.
She was preceded in death by her loving father Verlon C. Wood, and a loving sister, Delores A. Martin (Wood) and also her grandparents.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Robert L. Young (Bobby) of 43 years. She also leaves behind many other family members to include: mother, Mary Jane Pepe (Wood), sister and brother in law, Debby Hall & William Hall (Fuzzy), brother and sister in law, Robbie & Debbie Wood, and brother in law, Jimmy Martin.
She was loved by her nieces and nephews: Travis & Mary Hall, Jamie Hall, Tabitha (Wood) & Jimmy Gollihugh. Jeremy & Kelsey (Stall) Wood, Dallas Ann Hoegerl (Martin) & Bryan Hoegerl, along with her great nephews and great niece, who loved her dearly, Ashton, Cole and Kelsey.
The family wishes to thank Virginia Oncology and staff and a very special heart felt thank you to Dr. Harden and Dr. Hoefer for all of their love and support.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family are asked to make a donation honoring Donna's life to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are being provided by Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, 7192 Main Street, Gloucester, VA.
There will be a private service for family at a later date.
