Don Hall, 91, of Gloucester, surrounded by love, laughter, and salty faces, passed peacefully from his earthly home to be with "The Man Upstairs" on 4 August 2025.

He was born 19 June 1934 to Don Carlos and Virginia Hall in Joliet, Illinois. Don was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife Marcia; daughters Cindy Lee Hall and Pattie Anne Drake (David); grandchildren Samantha Drake (Alex), Elisabeth Anne Drake, and Brian Hall; a great-granddaughter, Pippin; and his sister, Florence in Eugene, Oregon. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved son, Chip Hall (Terri).

Don was raised in the Sunshine state—Tampa Fla. Upon graduation from Plant High school, he attended the University of Florida on a swimming scholarship. During the Korean War, he attended the cadet program in Harlington Texas, and graduated as a 2nd Lt. After flight school, he moved to Langley AFB, Va, where met and married Marcia and began their next 69 years together.

Don enjoyed skiing and golf in his younger years before he shifted to the treasured duties of home restoration, gardening, and grandfathering.

He was loved by many and described by his kids' friends as "one of the coolest dads ever." Don was a source of super-strength and support to all. He was known for his great faith, love of family and friends, and optimism.
