David Robert Simmons, 73, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 in Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Ithaca, NY and was the son of the late Harold and Alice Vennel Simmons. He served his county in the U.S. Air Force and also the U.S. Navy. He retired from Gloucester County Public School System as the energy manager.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Lois Cass Simmons and is survived by his children Christian R. Simmons (Shannon Lynn) and Shannon Lee Berk(Justin), step daughters Cynthia Lynn Cropley, Suzanne Marie Woodard, and Roberta Jean Woerner, sister Elva Perry, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest in the family cemetery in Ithaca, NY at a later date. Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
