Darlynn "Lynn" Melissa Griffith, 50, of Gloucester, VA, passed away at home on September 11th, 2023 after a 17 month battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer.

Lynn was born on March 5th, 1973 to Donald Lee and Sara "Nell" Ellison in Charleston, South Carolina. After graduating from Kecoughtan High School in 1991, she went on to join the U.S. Air Force where she served domestically and internationally until 2002. During her service, she spent time in Dover, DE, Mombasa, Kenya, and Yokota Air Base in Japan.

Lynn survived her first battle with breast cancer in 2014, and after receiving her second diagnosis in April of 2022 she displayed great strength and determination. She was a warrior, taking each challenge one day at a time and staying optimistic and true to herself throughout her fight.

She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Lynn was a passionate mother, devoting her time and energy to caring for her children. Being a mother was one of the most valued parts of her life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was an excellent mom, supportive, kind, hilarious, and strong. Her children and the rest of the family will miss her greatly.

Lynn is survived by her daughter, Alexandria "Aly" Bovidge, 28, her son Nathian "Nate" Bovidge, 21, and her bonus daughter, Cierra Griffith, 28. She is also survived by her parents, Donald and Sara Ellison, and her sister, Sadonna Wolf.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to METAvivor in memory of Lynn. There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm on Saturday, September 16th at Andrews Funeral Home at 7192 Main St, Gloucester, VA 23061.
