Dalene L Schwartz (Day) 2/14/1934-2/10/2022
Day was preceded in death by her parents Ethel and Dale and her husband Joe Schwartz.
She is survived by her daughters Debby Sheppard and Lindy Van Burik.
Her greatest accomplishment and joy in life came when she read her first book about Edgar Cayce in 1968 and would go on to Start at least 25 search for God study groups. It was her concept to start the Edgar Cayce forum in Virginia Beach at the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE) to introduce people and give them an overview of different topics so that perhaps they would go on to do their own research. The "Forum" was always free to the public and lasted for more than 30 years with her husband Joe's help for the first 14 years and Lindy helping for more than 17 years.
Mama admitted she was not a perfect homemaker or mother but she started our life with a true love of nature and a belief that everything and anything is possible. What a magical childhood, searching for Atlantis all the while believing in fairies and riding up and down escalators just for the fun of it!
We have always said that we will meet again in our dreams.
So go be groovy mom.
Per her wishes, there will be no funeral, but perhaps a memorial at a later date.
In lieu of flowers we know Mom would've loved to help support the ARE or the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
