Carolyn Ann Shelton, 74,of Gloucester passed away on January 9, 2018.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Earl and Burlie Elizabeth Crowder, brother Raymond Earl Crowder, Jr., sisters Stella Cade, Nina Pierce, and Nila Crowder and is survived by her husband of 56 years James C. "Gus" Shelton, son A. Keith Shelton(Lisa), granddaughters Jennifer Rowe(Ashley) and Jessica Shelton; great grandsons Riley Shelton Rowe and Tanner Dean Rowe, sisters Ruth Adams and Pat Minarik, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was the owner of Courthouse Antiques for 36 years where she turned her passion for antiques into a lifelong career. She loved to fish and could be found along the river on any afternoon. She had a deep love for her family and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. She thought there was nothing as sweet as her great grandsons. Most of all she was a devoted wife and life long partner to Gus who was everything to her.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 a,m. at Andrews Funeral home & Crematory. Burial will be at Shackelford Chapel Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, PO Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
