Carol Erickson MacKenzie passed away on April 10, 2022. She was 86 years old.

She is predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Edward MacKenzie (4/11/1926 – 8/6/1985), life partner of 28 years, Richard Lane, and companion of 7 years, Harvey Young.

Carol is survived by her four children, Candis Michaud (Ron) of Gloucester, VA, Stacey Gilbert (Jerry) of Gloucester, VA, Renee MacKenzie (Pam) of Naples, FL, and Kemp MacKenzie (Dannon) of Asheville, NC; three grandchildren Ryan Watson, Hollie Minnick (Danny), and Heather Balmain (Adam); three great grandsons, Jacob, Joseph, and Abel, and great great grandson Daniel Minnick (Jaqueline).

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Carol enjoyed working at a bank on Wall Street, the Lutheran Church, and the Brooklyn Telephone Company before marrying Edward in 1958. The Navy brought the family to Virginia, Morocco, Rhode Island, and Italy before they settled back in Virginia. Carol returned to work then and retired from Civil Service at Ft Eustis.

Carol has been a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Yorktown VA since 1975.

Carol loved music, from playing the piano to listening in on jam sessions. She was a history buff and opera lover with impeccable style.

Her unwavering kindness and wicked sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to send out a heart-felt thank you to Carol's private duty team and to Riverside Hospice.

The family will be receiving friends for visitation at Andrews Funeral Home in Gloucester, Virginia on Friday, April 15th, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Graveside burial will be at Grace Episcopal Church in Yorktown, on Saturday, April 16th, at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Riverside Walter Reed Hospice or Gloucester Volunteer Fire Department.
