Carl Ray Belvin (62) also known as Cool Ray, passed away on Tuesday July 7, 2026. He fought a hard battle with cancer.
He was born March 23, 1964, in Newport News, VA. He had various jobs as a commercial truck driver. Ray was the number one consumer of 7-11 coffee. He enjoyed having breakfast at Damons. He enjoyed drag racing and had several vehicles that he raced himself. He was an enthusiastic participant in various car shows. He is survived by his mother, Linda Bolen, brother Chris and Amy Belvin, sister Laurie and Jeff Forsythe, children; Melissa Hochheim and Lauren Belvin, aunt, Debra Thompson, grandchildren Brandon, Passion, Jayden and Aaliyah, nieces; Amber, Leigh, Tabitha, Laci, Lindsey and Emily, great nieces; Logan, Annie and Haley, great nephew; Ian, family and friends. Proceeded in death by his father, Linwood Belvin, stepfathers; James Heck and Joe Bolen, grandparents; Lucky and Ann West, Uncle Roy (Tom) Thompson and great nephew, Trevor Head. A life celebration will be held at Petsworth Baptist Church, 2471 Hickory Fork Rd. Gloucester, VA.Sunday July 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his life, share memories and celebrate a man who will be greatly missed. Memorial donations can be made to Petsworth Baptist Church. Hot Rods are welcome at the service.
