Brenda Faye Unangst, 59, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. She was born in Virginia Beach and was retired from the Gloucester County School System where she was a cafeteria manager at Peasley Middle School and then at Bethel Elementary School. She was also a license cosmetologist and a former member of the Moose Lodge in Portsmouth, Va.
She was preceded in death by her mother Edith Scott Sweet, her father Louis Jones and a brother William Jones and is survived by her husband Raymond I. Unangst, her sons Anthony Ray Unangst and his wife Carlene and Cody Ray Unangst and his wife Kayla, sisters Carol Tonaus and Jeanette Longmoore, brother Billy Earl Jones, grandchildren Sophie Rae Unangst and Blake Andrew Unangst.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 3-4:00 p.m. with a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va. Memorial donations may be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, PO Box 943, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
