Betty B. Setterholm

September 4th, 1943 – July 10th, 2026

Betty “Memaw” Setterholm, 82, passed away July 10th surrounded by family. She leaves behind an unwavering love for others that will forever be remembered by all who ever knew her.

Betty was a woman with a truly caring heart. She had a remarkable ability to see the good in just about everyone and welcomed people into her life with both warmth and a cup of coffee. Whether you were family by blood or someone she simply chose to love, Betty made you feel like you belonged. Her home, her heart, and her laughter were always shared generously.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Alton Jones Brown, Jr. and Mary Lucille Smith Brown, her beloved husband, Fred Setterholm, her cherished daughter, Mary Jo Setterholm, her siblings Gaynelle McNichols, Ronald Brown, and Alton “AJ” Brown III.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Betty Louise Sammons (husband Billy) and Ericka Fox; her grandchildren, Kandice Wauhop (husband Jesse) and Joseph Fox (partner Cam); her great-grandchildren Micah Wauhop, Lucas Wauhop, Jesse Wauhop, and Kaetlyn Schmitt; sisters, Joanne Brown and Nancy Kellum; her cherished “Beagle Bagel”, grandkitties, and the many “extras” she adopted as family along the way.

Though she will be deeply missed, Betty’s memory lives on in the love she gave so freely, the hot coffee and food she shared so often, and the family and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

The memorial service will be held Friday, July 24th at 10am at the Friend's Church off of Guinea Road. Feel free to bring a dish or drinks for the reception following the service.
