Bertie Blaylock Givans passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026. She was born on March 25, 1928. She was 98 years old.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Thomas Givans; her parents, Carroll W. Blaylock and Mary Virginia Blaylock; her son-in-law, Edward Burress; her grandson-in-law, Donnie McGee; her sisters-in-law, Edna Downs and Margaret Blaylock; her brothers-in-law, Normand Hebert, and James Downs; and her nephew, Kenneth Hebert.

She is survived by her children, Nancy G. Burress and Thomas W. Givans; two granddaughters, Lisa Carol McGee and Amanda Kaye Eubank (Brian); and two great granddaughters, Katelyn Hunt (Dalton) and Courtney Renee McGee; her sister, Jeanette Hebert; her brother, Kenneth Ray Blaylock; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory Gloucester, VA on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Virginia 23061 or Spring Hill Baptist Church, Box 92 Cobbs Creek, Virginia 23035.
