ANNETTE MULLINS HOLLANDSWORTH (ANN), 82, has been called to her eternal rest with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 23, 2018.She was surrounded by her family and friends in her home in Kilmarnock. Ann was born on June 30, 1936 in Berdine, Kentucky. She moved to Newport News in the 1950's and began her 60 year career in the restaurant business waitressing at The Wigwam and Danny's Restaurant. Ann eventually owned and operated several home-style cooking restaurants in Mathews and Gloucester. She first opened Ann's Diner in Mathews in the 1970's and then The Courthouse Restaurant in the 1980's. Her last and most successful restaurants were Ann's Family Dining and Granny's B's in Glenns.
Ann will be remembered for her strong work ethic and dedication to her customers. She greeted each customer personally and found her way into the hearts of many. Her unique smile, loving heart, and honest, non-swaying opinion will be greatly missed.
Ann is survived by her three children, Jerry Hollandsworth (Sherrill) of New Bern, N.C., her daughter, Jae George of Kilmarnock, and Dennis Hollandsworth (Dorine) of Forest, VA. She also leaves to cherish her memories 7 grandchildren, Gary Kammeter, Kurtis Kammeter, Justin Hollandsworth, Joshua Hollandsworth, Kacie Miller, Nathan Hollandsworth and Amy Howard; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Mullins and Beulah (Grandma); sisters, Faye Mallison and June Henry, and grandson, Ryan Hollandsworth.
A celebration of Ann's life will be held at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory in Gloucester on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
