Angel Rene Beatty Pritt, age 55, of Jeffersonville, IN (formerly of Gloucester, VA), passed away suddenly
on August 23, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of gentle hands, compassionate care, and an unwavering devotion to the animals she loved sq deeply. As a dedicated veterinary technician, Angel touched countless lives-both human and animal-treating every creature that entered her care with patience, dignity, and genuine affection.
Born on July 18, 1971, in Newport News, VA, Angel was the beloved daughter of Ruth and Lewis Beatty. She is survived by her parents, Larry and Ruth Brownley; her sister, Pamela Beatty; her brother, Larry Brownley Jr. (Cindy); her stepmother, Dianna Beatty; her nephew, Brenden Brownley; her niece, Colleen Brownley (Chase); and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Beatty; her nephew, Landon Brownley; her grandmothers, Sarah Beatty and Lois Eck; and her grandfathers, Everett Eck and Oscar Beatty.
Angel graduated from Gloucester High School in 1989 and followed her passion for animals to Bel Rea Institute of Animal Technology, where she earned her degree as a Veterinary Technician in 1993. She worked as a Registered Veterinary Technician from the moment she graduated, continually expanding her expertise with certifications including FFCP, Therapeutic Pet Nutrition Coach, and Telehealth Specialist. Angel served on veterinary technician boards in both Virginia and Indiana, and most recently was in her second term as Secretary of the Indiana Veterinary Technicians Association Executive Board. Her dedication to her profession was matched only by her love for the people and animals it allowed her to serve.
Angel's family extends heartfelt gratitude to Todd Taylor Peter, Terry Aguirre, and her entire Care Pets family. Your support, friendship, and love meant the world to her.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Bellamy Memorial Cemetery in Gloucester, VA. A celebration of life will take place at Care Pets Animal Hospital in Clarksville, IN, on September 27th from 4-6pm. An additional celebration of life will be held in Gloucester at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to causes close to Angel's heart: the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA; the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, PO Box 385, Gloucester, VA 23061; or your local animal shelter. Supporting these organizations honors Angel's lifelong commitment to compassion, care, and the well-being of all
animals.
